JCOM committee introduction
Our activities in JCOM are primarily done in the Kansai region in the field of composite materials, but we also collaborate with other academic societies to involve in a wide range of activities. Steering committee members participate in the management of JCOM in the regular committee meetings. One of the main roles of our committee members is the management of the JCCM (Japan Conference on Composite Materials), the largest event in JCOM, in collaboration with the Japan Society for Composite Materials (JSCM). Every year, we organize a future generation symposium in the form of a discussion camp, with our main young members acting as organizers who plan the details of the symposium gathering young researchers, including students. As our WG activities, we have the "Development of Composites for Mass-Produced Vehicles" WG and the "Green Composites" WG, and our committee members organize the events held by these WGs. In addition, our main members attend the Editorial Committee and Planning Committee of the Japan Society of Materials Science (JSMS) headquarters, and we are involved in planning various committee projects, such as articles of serialized courses. We are looking for young researchers and researchers from companies who play an active role in the field of composite materials. Please join our committee.
We also present JCOM awards to promising young researchers and company researchers, and make recommendation for academic awards of JSMS headquarters. We hope that JCOM activities will be an opportunity for researchers to actively promote the achievements.
